I was in a queue for at least an hour waiting to board the vaporetto to get back from Burano to Venice. “. I will be in Venice in late September and was thinking of popping over to Murano, but not

It would be a long walk from the Hotel to Zattare stop, and I an not conversant as to where the ship will dock, or if you could get to it easily from S,Marta, the Stazione Marittima cover a very large area, any alternative would be a Vaporetto from Salute line 1 to Piazzale Roma and a Land Taxi to the place where the ship is berthed,

1. Re: Luggage on Vaporettos. When we took the Vaporetto from the train station, we had 7 bags and 5 people and were charged a few extra euros for the 2 additional bags. When we took the Vaporetto from our hotel area back to the train station a couple of days later, there was no additional charge for the extra bags.
The island of Torcello is a small island located at the north-eastern end of the Venetian Lagoon, a few minutes by ferry from Venice (Italy). Founded in the fifth century by the inhabitants of the Roman city of Altino, who settled there to escape the invasion of the troops of Attila, king of the Huns, Torcello is even older than Venice.

The vaporetto allows you to move around the historic center of Venice and navigate to the islands of the lagoon. Since the € 9.50 ticket entitles you to use the service for 75 ' , i.e. one or a maximum of 2 trips, the 24-hours vaporetto ticket is very convenient for a short stay in the city.

Opening hours: 365 days, 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM. Our self-service luggage storage at Venezia Santa Lucia Train Station is the best solution to stow your bags in Venice, thanks to our unbeatable location just a few steps from the train station entrance. No line, super safe and 24H surveilled. On Wednesday 22 March we will take the boat from the airport to Accademia and will not use the Vaporetto until the morning of 23 March. On Monday 27 March we will take the vaporetto to the train station and board the Frecciarossa for Rome. So--we'll have 4 full days in Venice and 2 days when we are transiting to and from Venice.

As others said, don't think of the vaporetto as a boat, but as a bus. If you get a chance, take it through the Grand Canal at night. Venice has a whole different look then, enchanting with the lights reflecting on the canal. I love Venice, have visited twice and hope to visit again next year. Buon Viaggio!
